Hi Polly,
The registration process as it is common with politics was riddled
with controversy (e.g read this blog
http://ugandansatheart.wordpress.com/2010/01/14/wafula-explains-nrms-8-million-kiwani-voters-and-term-limits-in-fdc/)
and it is true that there is a possibility of voters changing their
allegiance between now and the election time.
Anyway the purpose of this exercise according to NRM is to help the
party plan for voter sensitisation better as well as trying to
eliminate cases of double registration through the use of technology
(biometric system, which registers the human fingerprints and faces)
during party primary elections.
