Dear Colleagues
I am glad to see the Ugabytes community moving into the Web2.0 world
and this wonderful ecosystem of social networking ... but I am also
concerned that the infamous PC Paradox of the 1980s is going to be
repeated with Social Networking, Mobile Applications and all the rest.
The key problem is not any more simply getting access to the Internet
and to data ... it is also sorting out the data that is worth working
with and the data that a mere noise. Data overload is a curse that is
overwhelming people and systems.
Data overload is one of the issues that gets addressed by Community
Analytics ... a lot of transactions serve to feed the database ... the
it is the analysis that summarizes that gets interesting. Drill down
then shows the detail data about important issues ... under the
control of the user.
Please free to get me to answer any questions you may have ... one day
the answers with be automated but for the moment there is only a human
being to do this work!
Happy New Year
Peter Burgess
