UgaBYTES initiative has made a big effort to reach out to its stakeholders
not only in the traditional ways like e-mails, phone e.t.c but also on
social networking websites. UgaBYTES social media outreach doesn't stop with
Twitter, though, the company through its knowledge sharing department also
reaches out to people through blogs, in forums, and anywhere else through
other platforms like Telecentre.org and Facebook.
These social networking platforms are invaluable tools that should not be
ignored. Twitter is a social networking service that allows users to send
text-based messages (tweets) up to 140 characters long, to the Twitter
website. The updates are displayed on the user's profile page and then
delivered to other users who have signed up to receive them. The updates can
be sent to another user's Twitter page, e-mail, or even mobile device. Users
also have the option of restricting the delivery of their messages to their
followers alone. The general idea is to send an update of your current
activity.
Facebook is a social networking service that lets you connect others who
share similar interests or who have common backgrounds. What makes Facebook
different from other social networks are its extensive privacy controls, its
development platform, and its large and quickly growing user base.
