Developing opportunities for Bolivian youth
[image: Bolivia map4.jpg]Did you know that the average GDP per capita in
Bolivia is $4,500 (US) and about 10% use the Internet? While statistics like
these may seem discouraging instead they are energizing groups throughout
the country to create more opportunities in their communities and for their
youth. Our Director of Strategic Partnerships, Regina Ryan, met with three
such groups when she visited Bolivia in September. Read

A better future 'enroute' for the youth of Senegal
[image: chicago-packing.preview2.jpg]Thanks to WCE-Chicago who worked
tirelessly collecting and packing 191 computers now enroute to help connect
7,000 youth in 18 schools, orphanages and youth centres in Senegal. Our
Baltimore/Washington Chapter helped with the fundraising effort. And we
could not have done it without the 11 amazing Peace Corps volunteers who
spearheaded the in-country effort. Just one more great example of how WCE
works to build collaborative partnerships for youth. Read

LHJ says, "Don't Dump It, Donate It" to WCE
[image: 100sq_dg_stamp.jpg]Do you have unwanted laptops and desktops? Ladies
Home Journal suggests you donate them to WCE (Thanks LHJ!). You can read the
full article<http://cts.vresp.com/c/?WorldComputerExchang/c183b65238/9ba170c25f/21b3ad85b5>to
learn about other ways to "Do Good". Don't forget to donate
your computers<http://cts.vresp.com/c/?WorldComputerExchang/c183b65238/9ba170c25f/257b8d0bf3>
to
WCE. Schools, libraries and orphanages serving disadvantaged youth in the
developing world will put them to good use.

WCE now part of the Combined Federal Campaign
Several of our volunteers have encouraged us to reach out to *Federal
employees* of U.S. Government agencies. Now, for the first time this
year,WCE is part of the Combined Federal Campaign for U.S. Government
employees. If you are a *Federal employee* interested in volunteering with
WCE, please contact PCooney at WorldComputerExchange.org.

Calling all Spanish-speaking tech professionals
WCE is planning our first eCorps trip to Latin America and we are recruiting
volunteer tech professionals to help with training -- in networking,
computer repair or the educational use of the Internet. Tech volunteers who
have gone on prior trips have evaluated their trips as “life changing” and
“excellent”. You can get a bit of the flavor of what an eCorps trip is like
from this blog kept by a volunteer in Tanzania in July:
http://rwpafrica.blogspot.com<http://cts.vresp.com/c/?WorldComputerExchang/c183b65238/9ba170c25f/456af84c02>.
Interested, speak Spanish and have some tech skills, then email us
eCorps at WorldComputerExchange.org

Planning on visiting a developing country? Become a WCE Traveler.
A new WCE Chicago volunteer, Yumi was planning on going to Cameroon and was
interested in doing what she could to help. And she did: Yumi met with
representatives of 15 groups in Bamenda,Cameroon interested in receiving
used working computers from WCE as part of a shared container. She gather
information, answer basic questions about WCE and encourage the groups
getting to know each other so that they are comfortable sharing in a
container. If you’re interested in being a WCE Traveler, email us at
eCorps at WorldComputerExchange.org.

Besides donating your used computers, (here's
how<http://cts.vresp.com/c/?WorldComputerExchang/c183b65238/9ba170c25f/88ea363212>
), we are also looking for...

    - A WCE Partner organization needs used radio and TV transmitting
equipment which will be included in our upcoming annual shared container
to Tanzania. If you have such equipment, please email
   Tanzania at WorldComputerExchange.org.
    - WCE is now accepting *cell phones*. You can include them with your
computers and networking gear donations or mail them to us at *WCE 936
Nantasket Avenue, **Hull, Massachusetts 02045 USA.*
   - A Peace Corps Volunteer for the school he’s assisting requested an *LCD
projector -* and we found one.* *Unfortunately, the projector *was stolen
   * from inside of a suitcase between Boston and Miami. If you have a
working used LCD projector, we know a school that is all ready and will
be VERY happy. Please contact JODonnell at WorldComputerExchange.org.

    [image: DONATE
NOW.jpg]<http://cts.vresp.com/c/?WorldComputerExchang/c183b65238/9ba170c25f/f5122923c4>

   Transform lives by transforming education.
Few would disagree that developing 21st Century skills comes down to
access to technology. When countries have glaringly low rates of Internet
usage, there should be no surprise that their economies struggle to grow.
Help schools, libraries, ophanages, refugee camps, community centres blend
their very best of classroom and online education. There are over 100,000
youth waiting. *Make a donation
today<http://cts.vresp.com/c/?WorldComputerExchang/c183b65238/9ba170c25f/043c5f720a>
*and you will help transform their lives.
