MEDEA Awards 2009
The aim of the annual MEDEA Awards is to encourage innovation and good practice in the use of media in education. Their purpose is to recognise and promote excellence in the production and pedagogical design of media-rich learning resources at all levels of education, and to highlight good practice in the use of media and video in the classroom.

MEDEA Awards 2008 winner, Ulf Hjerppe with the Award
The multimedia programme "Rättegångsskolan på webben/Court introduction" was the first overall winner of the MEDEA Award in 2008. Producer Ulf Hjerppe of Brottsoffermyndigheten/Crime Victim Compensation and Support Authority ( Sweden ) received the MEDEA bronze statuette during the MEDEA Awards Ceremony 2008, which took place on December 4th of December at the Hotel InterContinental in Berlin , during the ONLINE EDUCA BERLIN Conference. The MEDEA Awards 2009 are now open for submissions of entries. This year there are two new MEDEA Awards; the MEDEA Award for Creativity and Innovation, set up to coincide with the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009 to encourage participation from teachers and learners and intended to highlight creative and innovative use of media in education, and the European Collaboration Award intended to reward a production, project of initiative that features or has come about as a result of European cross-border collaboration.
