                 One World Media Awards - check results, see photos, read quotes
                  The 2009 Awards ceremony took place on the 22nd June 2009, and was presented for the first time by Fergal Keane. Among the winners were Crude, which took away the International Documentary Award; and Jonathan Miller of Channel 4 News, who was named Broadcast Journalist of the Year. Meanwhile, the Special Award went to Israeli organisation B'Tselem, for their camera distribution project. More...

                 Applications open for the One World Media Fellowships 2009
                  Senior broadcasters from the developing world are now invited to apply for the One World Media Fellowships. This programme, now in its 14th year, brings a group of broadcasters to the UK for two weeks, where they exchange ideas with their UK media counterparts. For the first time, it will be possible to apply online through our website. More... 


                 
           
           
                 New Project - One World Media to work with media/journalism courses across the UK
                  One World Media has just received funding from the Department for International Development for a new, three-year project, designed to raise awareness of development issues among media students all over the UK. The project will work with courses including documentary filmmaking and  journalism, and will involve workshops on reporting overseas, plus screenings and events. It will also work in parallel with the One World Media Fund to provide modest financial support for students to report overseas. More...

                  MTV Positive Change Awards for creative multimedia coverage of climate change
                  Young people aged 18 to 28 can now apply to a special category of the Earth Journalism Awards specifically designed by MTV and Internews. Young creatives are invited to put forward their best, most original piece of content on climate change, in any format - video, audio, photography, script, and music are all accepted. The winner will be honoured at a high-profile awards ceremony at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen this December. More...
