  The 2nd AGM of BTN

2nd AGM of Bangladesh Telecentre Network has been held at the conference
room of Bangladesh NGO Foundation. In this event BTN welcomed ten new
members approved at 9th Executive Committee meeting. At this AGM, Members of
BTN also select the new Executive Committee for 2009 for BTN governance.

  BTN and BNF sign MoU

exchanging the MoU]Bangladesh Telecentre Network (BTN) and Bangladesh NGO
Foundation (BNF) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on December
24, 2008 at conference room BNF, Mohakhali. Mr. Ananya Raihan, General
Secretary, BTN and Mr. Abu Taher Khan, BNF signed the agreement on behalf of
their respective organizations. According to this agreement BTN will
facilitate BNF members to establish telecentre across the country. Primarily
20 of BNF members are going to take part of this initiative.
 Channel I program showed at different telecentres across the country

inform that the Channel I program "Krishoker Eid Anondo" has been showed in
different telecentres across the country on December 11, 2008. Despite Eid
holiday good number of people rushed to their local telecentre to watch this
popular program. Feedback from enthusiastic viewers inspired BTN to organize
same kind of program in near future in association with Channel I.
  BTN spread District Resource Centre (BDRC) across the country

In December BTN has called for the Expression of Interest (EOI) from BTN
members to become a BTN-District Resource Centre
(BDRC)<http://mission2011.net.bd/drc>.
In response BTN got ten (10) EOI have submitted the EOI from 9 districts.

BDRC are BTN affiliated independent institutions located in district
headquarter, who will be act as hub for promoting activities surrounding to
building information and knowledge system for all citizens. BDRC is the
authorized institution to promote and support entrepreneurs and institutions
in establishment and operation of telecentres and other type of public
access to information and knowledge through ICTs.Read

 BTN member YPSA organize 2nd National Youth Camp on Disability

organization, Young Power in Social Action (YPSA) <http://www.ypsa.org/>,
with the support of Action Aid Bangladesh, organizes an annual Youth Camp to
increase young peoples' awareness on social development issues and encourage
them to take on leadership roles within their communities. This year YPSA
organized the 2nd National Youth Camp specifically with participation of

  BTN member BNNRC will publish a Community Radio Handbook for Good
Governance and Development

important place in development field in Bangladesh. Under this circumstance,
Bangladesh NGOs Network for Radio and Communication (BNNRC) has taken
initiative of publishing a Community Radio Handbook for Good Governance and
Development to meet the basic needs and demands of the community radio
initiators, regulators, managers, community leaders and community
broadcasters in respect to setting up and operating the community radio
stations successfully in Bangladesh.
