     The annual meeting of the United Nations Department of Economic and
Social Affairs (Global Alliance for ICT and Development) UNDESA-GAID will
take place in Nave Lewis, Parque Fund Dora Monterrey, Mexico 2-4 September
2009.  This is your chance to help make the most effective use of the
Alliance’s human resources and knowledge. It will be a chance to contribute
to G at ID's development and communication flows, and advance G at ID's vision of
truly being a global network of networks. Dialogue, discussion,
presentations and conversation by the private public partnership (PPP) will
take in three days on the Global Forum 2009 (ICT AND INNOVATION FOR
EDUCATION).

            On the 2 September 2009 the Strategy Council will break out into
four “Solutions Salons” which are designed to move GAID beyond the
traditional seminar or panel format to a hands-on, participatory community
development and collective action.  Everyone in attendance will have the
opportunity to share their experiences and lessons from working on the
priority themes, and elicit partnerships and support from the group to
address current needs.

             Four parallel interactive Solution Salons will be grouped by
focus areas that emerged from online consultations:

(1) Financial and Economic Crisis and Poverty Eradication

 (2)Health and Education

 (3) Climate Change

 (4) Gender

             Also on the 2nd September there will be a Session on Network
Development which is   designed to strengthen and enhance members’
engagement with the GAID community by giving participants, and UNDESA-GAID
leadership, a clear sense of common purpose, an understanding of the roles
the various participants play, and a grasp of how the various networks and
activities fit together into a cohesive whole.  In this interactive
workshop, our members will be asked to discuss how the Steering Committee,
Strategy Council, and the High-Level Panel of Advisors and Champions can
most effectively work in tandem to advance the work of GAID, along with that
of the various organizations, leaders and stakeholders involved, helping
them to engage better with the United Nations and its development goals.

           On the 3rd of September discussion will be concentrated on the
CONTENT through ICT Innovations (Changing Education Processes and
Learning Culture),,
The Intercultural Innovations in Education,, Learning and Teaching with
ICT.. On Friday, 4th September 2009 discussion will be concentrated on
ACCESS where ICT Innovations Provide Affordable Access to Education,
Affordable Computing Models for Schools ( Successes and Challenges),,, also
discuss ICT BUSINESS INNOVATIONS FOR EDUCATION Innovations for Breakthroughs
in Learning( How to Achieve Mass Results).

          The conference will include a 3 hours Parallel Sessions leaded by
 Athgo International,  BluMail, Digital Opportunity Trust,  EMC Corporation,
G3ict, GAID e-Leaders, GeSCI , Harrisburg University, ICT4Peace, ICT
Volunteers, Info poverty Institute and OCCAM , Talal Abu-Ghazaleh
Organization, The International Taskforce for Women and ICT, EGovernment
Authority and the Ministry of Education of Bahrain**

Gedaref digital city organization (GDCO) It  is non governmental and non
profitable organization (Gedaref Sudan). GDCO is the founder of the first
national Telecentre academy in Africa and the middle east and it is the 13th
in the world (Sudan national Telecentre academy   SuNTA   ). GDCO is the
winner of information for development award  i4d 2007 awards ( e-India 2007)
   also the winner of i4d 2008 awards for the best innovations at the
grassroots Telecentre. Digital city of Eindhoven (DSE) donated 750 computers
to GDCO and more than seven projects were established using ICT for
community development.
