[UgaBYTES] Climate-Poverty hearing in Noakhali

Climate-Poverty hearing on the negative impact of Climate Change on the 
life and livelihood of costal people was held at Boyar Char of Hatiya 
the island upazilla of Noakhali on Thursday evening. Thousands of people 
who are the victim of river erosion, farmers, fishermen, landless and 
people of other deferent profession were present in the hearing. Some of 
the participants raised the crisis of their life and livelihood, natural 
disaster with shedding tears and blamed the climate change for their 
sufferings.
 
PRAN initiated and organized this hearing with the support of Campaign 
for Sustainable Development of Rural Llivelihoods- CSRL. Raha Nabakumar 
of Gandhi Asrom Trust chaired the program and former MP of Hatiaya 
inaugurated the program. Victim of river erosion Noor Jahan, Amir 
Sareng, Md. Yousuf, Bahar Maghi took part in hearing. A group of five 
judges listened to the appeals, given elaborated explanation of the 
issues and sentenced to claim fine from the developed countries those 
who are responsible for climate change.
