Kiringai - I like your enthusiasm on this issue.

...and in respect to your conclusion, I would add that if issues such as those raised in the article (Francis Mwathi shared with us) arise because the committee can not function well - to support telecentre activities its a major problem. It also means, you might not have a chance to see the progression you anticipate that will attract strong personalities to the committee.

Reason; the telecentre will be closed!

Its also possible to have good people on a telecentre committee even when a telecentre is just starting up. It depends on the promise, objectives and how it sets up to address the issues the people face. There are always personalities in the community who want to share their energy and experience as long as once approaches them to demo the importance of the cause.

It is therefore logical using this thinking to say that Telecentre
committees will have clearly defined responsibilities where its products and
service offering are clearly defined.
