Dear Fouad
Thank you for sharing with us what you are doing to innovate and create new
technologies that telecentres can use.
Certainly, forums like this are a perfect way to reach out to telecentre
practitioners and program managers. I would like to talk with you off-list
to understand more and determine how telecentre networks can take advantage
of this.
Regards, Meddie

Dear Community Members and ICT4D Project Managers,
I would like to introduce to you the idea of low cost computing as a means
for economic change. We have been working on the premise that access to
knowledge represents power. Those who have access to knowledge can make
informed choices, those who do not have access have limited choice.
The Internet has become the library of human experience and knowledge.
Access to it means that people can make informed choices about their
childrens' education, find out information pertaining to health and
well-being and discover information that can impact their economic
prospects.
To this end, we believe that access to powerful information tools and
communications tools should be the 'right' of every person.
We have undertaken to build a technology tool through InkMedia
(http://www.ink-media.com) that provides access to information,
communication and self expression. InkMedia sells this concept in the
embodiment of a low cost computer that can connect wirelessly to the
Internet and can be used without maintenance or worry about catching a
virus. We are focussed on bringing this technology to the next billion
people.
In addition to having a for profit company, our initiative also has a not
for profit arm called GMF Gerry Morgan Foundation
(http://www.gerrymorganfoundation.org). We provide computers to projects on
a subsidized and sometimes free basis. Currently we are working in Uganda
where we are building a school for AIDS orphans, in Cambodia where we
provide computers to a project and in Jamaica where we supply a UNESCO
project.
We are not interested in race, religion or what social order people belong
to. We wee that everyone should have access to information in the hopes
that they can improve their personal power and circumstance.
We are spreading out to the world and we believe in Public and Private
Partnerships as well as Innovation!
I invite you to visit both Ink Media web site and the GMF web site (both are
listed below again). I hope I have an opportunity to talk to you about what
we are trying to achieve. We would love to explore projects that can achieve
our outreach for ICT4D.
My Skype ID is "fouadbajwa" and fouadbajwa at gmail.com on GoogleTalk.
Best Regards.
