In recent years there has been a good deal of momentum in bring the 
public and the private to collaborate in several developing 
countries.  In fact the participation was always there.. just that it 
was always on the terms of the powerful. Now it has become a bit more 
acceptable in the public sphere to grant some advantages of private 
initiatives leading to better results.

So a large number of projects are being patronised by the public 
sector and initiated by the private sector with the governments or 
the public sector taking a relatively lesser role and leaving the 
management and governance in the hands of the private sector.

Do you know of any important initiatives where such experiments have 
succeeded in the case of ICT for Development as well?

Would you like to share these experiences or knowledge of such 
initiatives with this group?
