Dr Benjamin Aggrey Ntim, Minister for Communications on Thursday urged
researchers and communication experts to adopt strategies that would help
close the digital, education and poverty gap between the North and South. He
said if efforts by various state agencies, donor partners and Government
should fail then the use of Information and Communication Technologies
(ICTs) to bridge the widening and pervasive poverty could not remain a
mirage

The Indian IT market is expected to grow by 18 per cent in the year 2008 to
reach USD 38 billion, clocking second highest growth rate after China's
which is likely to attain a 20 per cent growth and touch USD 138 billion in
size, as per the latest research data released by Forrester

France looks again at 4th 3G licence <

French regulator Arcep has launched a new public consultation on issuing a
fourth 3G licence in the 2.1 GHz band. The government last year rejected an
offer from ISP Free for the licence, saying its bid was too low. The
government has now asked Arcep to look at alternatives, and the regulator
presented three options in the consultation
