*The BYTES for Development Award (B4DAward)* *Announcement*

East African Network Leaders recently agreed to reward telecentre
practitioners that share informative, analytical, and experiential
storieswithin the ecosystem. The annual award is known as B4DAward and
will
recognize the first winners in May 2009, however entries will be announced
on a monthly basis.

 B4DAward aims to stimulate and strengthen the online telecentre community
in the East African region and research skills be awarded to progressively
improve the telecentre body of knowledge.

The award will reward the:

   1. Best blogger
   2. Most outstanding story
   3. Best trainer

*Eligibility*

   - The award is for telecentre practitioners from the East Africa region.
   - Running period: is the normal calendar year – January to December .
   - Members of the jury, network staff, and development partners are
   excluded from the award.
   - Past winners are still eligible for the award.
   - Websites to be considered for the award include: UgaBYTES and
   telecentre.org websites and the other national network websites – KenTel,
   TTN, BCTN, RTN.

*Language: English speaking *

If articles in vernacular are considered, they should have been translated
to English and credit is given to the original author.

   - UgaBYTES Content Facilitator – Betty Iyamuremye
   - Rwanda – Paul Barera

   - Tanzania - Mambo Baker
