Hello all,

I am delighted to inform you that BCTN ( Burundi Community Telecentre
Network has been legally registered to operate in Burundi !

That has been done just today morning July 11th 2008. Endeed, I went to the
Ministry of Interior and Communal Development today and  found that our
organization was listed in newly registered organizations. Our registration
law number is 530/723 of 11/07/2008.

Some days ago, I gave some more documents to the Advicer of the Director
General of the Minister (including IDRC Pamphet  on TC.ORG, Telecentre Times
and l’Heure des Télécentres newspapers, etc
) after we had about on hour of
discussion : I was explaining him about community telecentres and how our
network won’t be a for profit organization as he had suspected.

After this, the Advicer went to advocate in favor of BCTN in the ministerial
commission in charge of the issue.

Thanks a lot to all the telecentre community world wide of your support in
this fight !
