Hello all,

I am delighted to inform you that BCTN ( Burundi Community Telecentre
Network has been legally registered to operate in Burundi !

That has been done just today morning July 11th 2008. Endeed, I went to
the Ministry of Interior and Communal Development today and  found that
our organization was listed in newly registered organizations. Our
registration law number is 530/723 of 11/07/2008.

Some days ago, I gave some more documents to the Advicer of the Director
General of the Minister (including IDRC Pamphet  on TC.ORG, Telecentre
Times and l’Heure des Télécentres newspapers, etc…) after we had about on
hour of discussion : I was explaining him about community telecentres and
how our network won’t be a for profit organization as he had suspected.

After this, the Advicer went to advocate in favor of BCTN in the
ministerial commission in charge of the issue.

Thanks a lot to all the telecentre community world wide of your support in
this fight !
