[UgaBYTES] Anyone with info about starting up a community Radio.

Dear Polly,

Thank you for your useful input. I have started a radio station. I would like to add: There are 3 main things to consider:

The will, commitement and determination plus Mission and Vision (the PEOPLE)
The hardware/ equipment (and of course software running on it)
The technical skills (in additional to journalistics skills)
The CONTENT (relevant, appropriate, strategic, timely).. otherwise, you risk converting your radio station into a juke box.

>From my personal experience, coming from a purely agricultural background, I have had to learn many things connected to radio. I have had to learn the technical skils associated with radio.. how to solder pieces of equipment together; how to develop programs using Adobe audition software, etc..

This means that, starting a radio station is not all that easy. of course we talked about the legilastive requirements.

I hope we continue to discuss this topic.
