Dear members,

The support centre has got a lot of questions and answers since the
revamping was done. These are organized based on categories. This summary
focuses on Social Entreprise tools,Evaluation and Technical trouble
shooting but you can find more on this and other categories when you visit
www.ugabytes.org or go straight to www.ugabytes.org/supportcentre .

>> Some of our computers have been attacked by unknown virus. This virus has
formed words "This computer is being attacked". How can I overcome such a
problem?

One solution could be using Linux Operating Systems. The modern releases of
Linux are 100% user friendly but folks still have that worst memories of the
old day Linux. This is worth trying in your centers maybe having one or two
computers running Linux.
You can also alternatively download a Adware SE scanner, from here,

>> What requirements should a telecentre have to offer ICT courses?

To offer ICT courses, it is important that telecentres have:

   1.

Quality curriculum that is tailored to the telecentre communities [in
   terms of language].
   2.

Sufficient skills to teach basic and if possible advanced courses .
   3.

Nationally recognized certifications to be provided with the courses

>> How does one measure the overall performance of telecentres?

Telecentre performance has two important yardsticks against which it should
be measured:

1. The telecentre's own goals and performance targets as set out in its
business plan, mission statement or programme proposal documents, and

   1.

the needs and satisfactions of its users.
   2.

The value of having common core indicators for measurement is that one
telecentre's performance or one national programme's performance can be
objectively compared to another's in a cross-sectional analysis and changes
in the performance of individual telecentres or national programmes can be
reliably measured over time. The proposed indicators are grouped into basic
telecentre parameters, indicators of demand for services, service
performance indicators and indicators of user behaviour and perceptions.
