Yahya Sseremba <yahya at ugabytes.org> a écrit : Twenty four telecentres are to be established in the newly created districts in Uganda. The revelation was made by Bob Lyazi, the Director Rural Communications Development Fund at the Uganda Communications Commission during the official opening of the 4th East Africa Telecentre Leaders Forum at Green Valley Hotel in Kampala, Uganda.  The two days discussion focused on social enterprise and was facilitated by Loic Comolli, the social enterprise director at NESsT.  Participants discussed the applicability of Social Enterprise in telecentres, challenges of implementing social enterprises and identified products and services that can be implemented in telecentres. 
   "The intension of the discussion is not only to discuss widely," said the executive director of UgaBYTES Sulah Ndaula, "but to provide solutions that will enable telecentres become independent and sustainable for eternity."
  At the same event, UgaBYTES unveiled its new online face www.ugabytes.org. While launching the new face, Bob Lyazi commended the organisation for launching a more dynamic and user friendly website but encouraged that it is done more often. 
  "I thank the UgaBYTES for promoting Information and Communication Technology in the East African region. I congratulate you upon getting a new and user friendly website and I hope you keep updating it frequently," Lyazi said. 
  The forum is attended by over 40 participants from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Sudan, Chile and Sweden.
  Tomorrow's discussion will focus on women and ICTs.
  The EATLF is an initiative of UgaBYTES with support from telecentre.org, a collaborative initiative funded by Canada's International Development Research Centre, Microsoft, and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation.
