Presenting a paper at the GK3, Glascock said telecentres need to be self reliant and sustainable if they are to contribute to bridging the digital divide in developed and developing nations. 

"iMallsGlobal was formed on the basis of training and development to telecenters so that the people trained are given access to global economy and expand on their businesses," Glascock explained.

He explained that telecentres need to generate income to be sustainable.

No Internet business can be conducted unless the buyer and seller have a means to send and receive goods, pay and get paid. Systems providing this service exist in the developed and developing countries.

Glascock said that trained telecentre operators allow developing nations to take advantage of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) and new emerging technologies to support economic development. iMalls provides a channel for telecentres to enter into multi-sector partnerships that offering ICT based logistics to small and medium enterprises in the developing world. These entrepreneurs were previously excluded from online commerce due to high costs and lack of training. 

Thousands of telecenters created over the last decade to provide Internet services are natural logistics and payments depots to provide these new services to their communities.
