Renatus, hi

Thanks for your question. Apparently there are some parts of your question
that are not clear. Did you want to say that telecentre has a radio
transmitter and a computer to implement a community radio. So you want to
reach the community within 2 km.

Essentially, your reach will depend on the transmitter power, height of the
mast on which the transmitter is installed and how much cable length you use
to the transmitter. The length of the cable between your transmitter and the
outside antenae is specified by the manufacturer (e.g.: 30 metres for a 100W
transmitter) - review your manual. Line of sight is not an important factor
in radio transmission , but the power of the transmitter is. To boost
transmitter power you can install a repeater which is (in fact) another
transmitter to boost your transmission to an areas that is not well covered
from the main transmitter. there are a number of software packages - Free -
that you can use for editing and scheduling audio files in the studio.

I hope this is helpful, let us know how your radio goes.
